About the courseWhat does it mean to be an executive in a system that pits value against values? Can you be the same person at work that you have invested decades in becoming to your family and friends, or must you leave your values outside the office door? If you want to retain a coherent sense of what you stand for, how do you manage your interactions with those who could thwart you? The corporations that you will work for may hold the reins of tremendous power, not least the power of disruptive innovation. What does it mean to wield that power responsibly?
In this course we address these questions by learning what it takes to engage in guerrilla ethics and corporate statesmanship. Within a program that equips you with the analytical tools and skills needed to make effective business decisions in technology-oriented enterprises, this course will equip you with practical skills and strategies that will enable you as individuals to remain true to your values while making those decisions, as well as to think critically about ethical issues in business. In parallel, you will learn to see your company and the issues it creates through the eyes of its stakeholders – such as employees, customers, neighboring communities, and the natural environment - and to address those issues in your role as a corporate executive. |
